Email Migration Help

On July 10th, 2018 SCI Broadband migrated @scicable.com and @scicable.net email users to a brand new email platform. On this page, you will find answers to frequently asked questions and instructions on how to log into the new webmail, along with steps on re-configuring email with popular apps such as; Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, Thunderbird, iOS and Android devices.

Webmail

To access the webmail, visit – http://mail.scicable.com

Sign into your account with your full email address, example – john.doe@scicable.com

Enter your password – Please Note: Your password has been reset after the migration, please contact customer support if you did not receive an email containing your new password.

Once logged in, you should be presented with your inbox and various options in the new webmail interface. Please ensure you reset your password to something more secure by clicking Settings at the top, then Password on the left.

Settings for Outlook, Apple Mail & Thunderbird

The easiest way to migrate your email client to the new email platform is to remove your account and re-configure it. The instructions below apply to most PC applications –

Depending on which version of Outlook you’re using, or if you’re on Apple Mail, Thunderbird or another email client, you may be asked to enter your email address. Type in your full address, example – john.doe@scicable.com

From here, if there is an option for manual configuration, select it –

The mail application will ask for account type, select IMAP

The username for both incoming and outgoing email should be your full email address, example – john.doe@scicable.com

Both incoming and outgoing mail servers are – mail.scicable.com

For IMAP, use incoming mail port 143 and outgoing mail (SMTP) port 587. SSL/encryption can be set to Off or Auto

At this point it will prompt for your password, enter your password – Please Note: Your password has been reset after the migration, please contact customer support if you did not receive an email containing your new password.

The account configuration should complete and you will be presented with your email application’s inbox –

iOS & Android Devices

The easiest way to migrate your mobile device to the new email platform is to remove your account and re-configure it. The instructions below apply to most iOS and Android devices –

To add a new account on iOS, such as an iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app then click Accounts & Passwords, from there select Add Account. You will be presented with a list of options, select Other at the bottom –

Click Add Mail Account, it will prompt for your Name, Email, Password, and a Description, enter this information – Please Note: Your password has been reset after the migration, please contact customer support if you did not receive an email containing your new password. 

If it prompts for which type of account to use, select IMAP. Both incoming and outgoing mail servers are mail.scicable.com. Use incoming mail port 143 and outgoing mail (SMTP) port 587. SSL/encryption can be set to Off or Auto

Your username is your full email address, example – john.doe@scicable.com –

The account configuration should complete and your mobile device will start downloading messages.
